Bentuho, Iceland 5-1 with no foreign players
[아시아경제 공병선 기자] The Korean men’s soccer team, led by coach Paulo Bento, won 5-1 against Iceland.
On the 15th (Korean time), Korea Republic, ranked 33rd in FIFA rankings, won a friendly match against Iceland (FIFA ranking 62) held at Mardan Stadium in Antalya, Turkey 5-1.
The opening goal was scored by Korea. In the 15th minute of the first half, Jo Kyu-seong (Gimcheon) received a pass from Kim Jin-gyu (Busan) and opened the goal with a right-footed shot.
In the 24th minute of the first half, Kwon Chang-hoon (Kim Cheon) could not score a penalty kick awarded by Jo Kyu-seong. However, in the 27th minute of the first half, he made up for the penalty kick by scoring the winning goal to make it 2-0.
In the 29th minute of the first half, Baek Seung-ho (Jeonbuk) made 3-0 with a medium-range gun and conceded a goal to the opponent in the 9th minute of the second half, but Kim Jin-gyu in the 28th minute and Uhm Ji-seong (Gwangju) in the 41st minute of the second half shook the net one after another.
On this day, four people tasted their debut goal in match A. Kim Jin-gyu, Um Ji-sung, Jo Kyu-seong, and Baek Seung-ho are the main characters. Kim Jin-gyu made an outstanding performance with one goal and one assist in his A Match debut.
On the 21st, Korea will play a friendly match against Moldova (#181 FIFA ranking) at the same venue. After that, on the 27th, they will go to Lebanon in the 7th leg of the Qatar World Cup Asian qualifier.
