2,195 new confirmed cases in Tokyo… Monday’s ‘highest on record’

According to NHK, a public broadcaster in Japan, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced that the number of new infections in Tokyo today was 2,195, an increase of 766 from the same day of the week (July 26) a week ago.

This is the highest number of confirmed cases on any Monday, and this is the first time that the number of new cases on Monday has exceeded 2,000.

In the past week, the average daily number of confirmed cases in Tokyo was 3,214, which is 206.9% of the previous week’s (1554).

The number of seriously ill patients in the province was 114, an increase of 13 from the previous day, an increase of 36 from a week ago.

The Nippon News Network (NNN) reported that the delta mutation is spreading more and more, and the explosive spread that greatly exceeds the third wave of the year-end and New Year holidays is not stopping.
