According to the report, 38.4% of the interviewees answered “it is necessary to step up” on discussing the issue of amending the constitution. 32.5% and 19.8% answered “no need to worry” and “against constitutional amendment, so there is no need to discuss”, respectively. Among the Japanese Liberal Democratic Party, 77.9% of the respondents believed that constitutional amendment should be stepped up, while 68.9% of the Komeito Party of Japan believed that there was no need to worry, and differences were exposed within the ruling party in Japan.

Regarding the issue of constitutional amendments, among the questions about which item should be discussed first, the answer to “incorporate the existence of the Self-Defense Forces in the constitution” accounted for the largest proportion, reaching 34.3% (except for candidates who do not need to be discussed). Among them, 84.9% of the Japanese Liberal Democratic Party chose to be included in the Self-Defense Forces.

In addition, regarding whether to amend the constitution under the Kishida regime, including “relatively speaking”, 52.6% of those who chose “agree”.
