According to a poll, 52% of South Koreans expect the COVID-19 crisis to end soon, exceeding the global average.
In a poll conducted by Ipsos, a global opinion polling company, on 22,16 people in 28 countries from September 24 to October 8, the number of responses that the COVID-19 epidemic would soon be over was 12 percentage points higher than last year’s survey. It was counted at 45%.
Saudi Arabia and India gave the most positive outlook with 79% and 77%, respectively, followed by Malaysia with 69%, China with 61%, Korea and Italy with 52% respectively.
On the other hand, the countries with the lowest response rates were Japan and Canada with 28%, Australia 29%, and the US 30%, respectively, showing a pessimistic view of the COVID-19 situation.
New Zealand, Canada, Germany and Sweden ranked at the top of the list with over 70% of the questions asked about countries or organizations that they thought showed excellent leadership in handling the pandemic.
Ipsos said, “There are differences of opinion on whether or not the COVID-19 has been contained internationally, but optimism that the hurdle has been crossed is growing.”
