Coalition “We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria” to Run United in Upcoming Elections
The coalition ”We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria” (PP-DB) will appear united in the upcoming elections on October 27, after “Yes, Bulgaria” decided to remain part of the merger.
“The National Council of Yes, Bulgaria made a decision to run in a coalition with Continue the Change and Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria in the upcoming elections. I think this is a responsible decision.” said Bozhidar Bojanov, leader of ”Yes, Bulgaria”.
Bojanov emphasized that the coalition aims to bring back at least 100,000 voters lost in the previous elections and to form a regular government with an anti-corruption program.
Conditions for Remaining in the Coalition
“Yes, Bulgaria” had set conditions for remaining in the coalition, including dropping the quota principle when sorting the lists, introducing a quality criterion for evaluating candidate substitutes, and attracting new people.
Ivaylo Mirchev from DaBG wrote that the negotiating team of “Yes, Bulgaria” proposed a draft framework coalition agreement to the PP and the DSB, which included criteria for MPs applying, holding preliminary elections for who would be on the lists, and a gentleman’s agreement to decide that the one with the most preference would be first on the list.
DSB Calls for Unity
The DSB called for unity and showed that it remains part of the merger, emphasizing that the coalition’s unity and stability are the main factors for creating a Euro-Atlantic anti-corruption majority.
“We appreciate the unity and stability of the coalition ‘Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria’ as the main factor for creating a Euro-Atlantic anti-corruption majority. We are convinced that only a regular government based on these principles will make Bulgaria a strong and wealthy country in a united Europe.” states the position of the DSB.
DSB’s Vision for the Country’s Management
The DSB’s vision for the country’s management includes a programmatic coalition and anti-corruption management, based on the principles of Euro-Atlantic development, security, peace, and well-being of the nation, protection of national interests, and patriotism.
