King Charles Paid £1.5M to Settle Prince Andrew’s Lawsuit | Royal Family Scandal

Royal Family Loaned Andrew Millions, Remains Unpaid

King Charles III reportedly authorized a personal contribution of £1.5 million to assist his brother, Prince Andrew, in avoiding a trial. Of the £12 million paid by the former prince to Virginia Giuffre in early 2022, £7 million came from the late Queen Elizabeth II’s personal funds, £3 million from the estate of Prince Philip, and £1.5 million from then-Prince Charles’ private portfolio, according to sources.

According to reports, Prince Andrew has “not repaid a penny” of the millions borrowed from members of the Royal Family. The loans were provided to settle a civil sexual assault lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre.

“Andrew Lied to His Family”

Sources speaking to The Sun, which revealed details of the financial arrangement, indicated that other members of the Windsor family contributed smaller amounts to the overall sum. At the time, there was a hope that resolving the matter financially would extinguish the controversy and protect the monarchy, particularly in the lead-up to the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

“Andrew lied to his own family about the nature of his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein,” a source told the newspaper. “They believed his lies and helped him make the problem go away.” The source added, “His own mother, the late Queen, was deeply upset by the scandal but could not bring herself to banish Andrew, who remained her beloved son.”

Prince Philip’s Legacy Affected

The same source noted that “people will be shocked to learn that such a large sum came from his father’s estate,” referring to Prince Philip, who died a year prior. “The Duke of Edinburgh would have been far from imagining that his savings would one day be used to buy someone’s silence.”

The Royal Family has reportedly been loaned $23 million to pay off accuser Virginia Giuffre, according to a Facebook post from PerthNow.

The palace has since indicated a willingness to cooperate with authorities regarding the recent release of Epstein files. King Charles III and Queen Camilla, along with Prince William and Kate Middleton, have responded to the latest revelations stemming from the Epstein documents, stating the Royal Household is available to assist investigations and ensure justice for the victims.

Virginia Giuffre died in 2025, with a coroner ruling her cause of death as suicide.

Andrew has been stripped of his titles following the fallout from his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and continues to face scrutiny as further details of his ties to Epstein emerge.
