District Collector Dr. Divya S. Iyer addresses the 36th National Eye Donation Ceremony

In a momentous event held at the Nam Vadasherikara Gram Panchayat Hall, District Collector Dr. Divya S. Iyer inaugurated and delivered a thought-provoking speech during the closing ceremony of the 36th National Eye Donation Party. With an unwavering conviction, Dr. Iyer emphasized that eye donation, being completely devoid of disfigurement, must be encouraged and widely embraced by our community.

The gathering, studded with esteemed personalities, witnessed the presence of Gram Panchayat President Lata Mohan, who expertly presided over the event. Deputy DMO Dr. Ip Joseph received an eye donation certificate from President Lata Mohan, symbolizing the dedication of the Gram Panchayat towards this noble cause.

Dr. Rekha, an ophthalmologist from Pathanamthitta General Hospital, conducted an enlightening eye donation awareness class, shedding light on the profound impact individuals can have through this act of kindness. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Roshan Roy Mathew, General Secretary of Visual Vision Service, who shared enlightening insights as the chief guest.

The ceremony was a collaborative effort by various organizations and institutions, including the District Prevention of Blindness Committee, Karchannetradana Sena, Vadasherikkara village Panchayat, Vadaserikara Family Health Centre, Kerala Health, and the District Decal Office. Following the conference, a free eye examination camp was conducted, providing much-needed medical assistance to the attendees.
