Following the shooting of an elementary school in Texas, there has been another shooting in the United States.

Foreign media such as the AP and ABC News reported on the 29th local time that a shooting occurred at an outdoor festival held in Taft City, eastern Oklahoma, in the early morning of the same day, killing one person and injuring seven others.

According to investigative authorities, witnesses said gunshots were heard after an argument at the scene. One of the injured is a youth.

The shooting occurred at an event leading up to Memorial Day. About 1500 people were in attendance.

“I heard a lot of gunshots,” Sylvia Wilson, who runs a cafe near the site, told the Associated Press.

“After that, people started running and I heard a voice saying, ‘Get down!'”

A 39-year-old black woman was killed in the shooting and those injured are said to be in non-life-threatening condition.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said the suspect, 26-year-old Skyler Buckner, surrendered after the incident and was “currently in custody.”
