Asomeray EUV·CNT technology, ‘attention’ in Envex

Asomeray (CEO Kim Se-hoon) participated in the ‘International Environmental Industry Technology and Green Energy Exhibition (ENVEX 2022, hereafter referred to as ENVEX)’ held at COEX in Seoul from the 8th to the 10th, and Airsome (a smart air sterilization/purification module) Airxome), attracting the attention of visitors.

Hosted by the Ministry of Environment and Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute (KEITI), NVEX is the longest running and largest environmental exhibition in Korea. Envex 2022, which marks its 43rd anniversary this year, was operated with 598 exhibition spaces with a total of 267 domestic and foreign companies, including 44 overseas companies from 16 countries, including the United States, China, and Europe.

At the opening ceremony held on the 8th, Minister of Environment Han Hwa-jin visited the Asome Ray booth located in the Green New Deal Promising Companies Pavilion and watched Airsome’s technology to remove fine dust with a light source using carbon nanotube (CNT) fibers.

Asomeray is a green innovative company recognized for its technology that can dramatically improve indoor air quality while reducing energy consumption compared to existing air purifiers and sterilizers in the Green New Deal Promising Companies 100 jointly promoted by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2020. It has been selected as a member of the company and has been receiving commercialization and R&D funds every year for three years until this year.

CEO Kim Se-hoon told Environment Minister Han Hwa-jin, “In the past, corona discharge was used to ionize fine dust. he explained.

He continued, “Asome Ray uses a much lower energy and does not generate ozone because it ionizes light with a light source. Of course, field tests have been completed,” he emphasized.

Airtherm is a module unit that is additionally attached to an existing air conditioning unit (AHU) or total heat exchanger (ventilator), and uses a CNT fiber-based cold cathode light source to ionize fine dust, viruses, and bacteria and catch them with a dust collecting plate. Although the electrostatic precipitation method is used, it has the advantage that ozone is not detected because plasma is not generated because it is operated at a low voltage of less than 3.5 kV.

As a result of testing by authorized institutions such as KCL and KTL, performance such as reduction of 99.9% of fine dust, 99.9% of suspended bacteria, and 98.4% of floating virus was confirmed. Using a high-efficiency extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light source, it removes up to 80% of fine dust and ultrafine dust in the air through photoionization in one pass, and 99.9% within 10 minutes.

In addition, unlike the existing air purifying and sterilizing equipment, since it does not use a filter, it does not apply static pressure, so energy consumption is low, and waste generation due to filter replacement can be reduced, so it is a carbon-neutral and ESG device.

The product model is building a lineup of △M50 (5,000CMH) △M25 (2,500CMH) △M06 (600CMH) for each air flow range. M50 is AHU for central air conditioning, M25 is ERV for large space, and M06 is for small space. It is suitable for application to ERV, etc.
