Ubisoft has announced Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, an enhanced remake of the 2013 pirate adventure, set for release on July 9, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game will be available through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store, featuring upgraded visuals, new story content, and improvements to gameplay mechanics using the latest Anvil Engine.
The Resynced version builds on the original story of Edward Kenway during the Golden Age of Piracy, introducing exclusive new content including storylines focused on fan-favorite characters such as Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet. Three new officers will join Edward on his journey as part of the main narrative, alongside additional features like new sea shanties, pets, and a photo mode.
Technical enhancements include support for ray tracing and Dolby Atmos, delivering a more immersive experience with improved lighting, environmental detail, and audio fidelity. The game features a total visual overhaul of the Caribbean setting, with seamless open-world exploration across land and sea, upgraded naval combat, and a refined parry-driven melee system.
Players can choose from multiple editions at launch. The Standard Edition is priced at $59.99 and includes the base game. The Digital Deluxe Edition, available for $69.99 on PC via Steam and the Ubisoft Store (and $59.99 on consoles), adds in-game items and extras. The Collector’s Edition, priced at $199.99, includes physical collectibles such as a steelbook case, statue, and other premium items, though the full contents were not detailed in the reviewed sources.
Development is led by Ubisoft Singapore, with many of the original game’s developers returning to ensure fidelity to the source material while leveraging modern hardware capabilities. The remake aims to preserve the core narrative of Edward Kenway’s transformation from privateer to Assassin while expanding the world with new quests and character interactions.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced represents a significant investment in revitalizing one of the series’ most beloved entries, combining nostalgic appeal with contemporary technical standards. The July 9, 2026 release date positions it as a mid-year flagship title for Ubisoft across current-generation platforms.
