Available in five cities, Reliance Jio declares 5G Beta trial

New Delhi: Jio is all set to launch 5G service in the country. The probation will start from Wednesday. The trial will begin in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Varanasi.

In the first phase, Jio’s True 5G service will be available to select customers in these cities only. The company will seek usage experiences from them. Jio has introduced a welcome offer for select customers.

These customers will get unlimited data at a speed of 1 GB per second. They will be upgraded to 5G without changing their current SIM. The trial period will be extended to more cities in a phased manner.

After four years of efforts, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the fifth generation telecom spectrum services to the country on the 1st of this month.

Airtel CEO Sunil Bharti Mittal had said that services are available in eight cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi and Bengaluru from Saturday. Airtel is the first company to launch 5G service in the country.
