Bajrang Dal activists attack school in Madhya Pradesh; Incident during the exam | MP | School attack

Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh): Bajrang Dal activists attacked a school in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly converting students. The attack took place at St. Joseph’s School in Ganj Basoda town in Vidisha district. Hundreds of people stormed the school.

The attack took place during the 12th class maths exam. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a school carrying Christian missionaries. There were reports on social media that the management had converted eight students at the school. This was followed by an attack.

A group of about 100 people chanted slogans against the school management and attacked the school. Police were also seen trying to control the crowd. Students and staff at the school escaped with their heads cut off. The attackers threw and smashed the windows of the school. Meanwhile, some students have complained that they could not write the exam properly due to the tension and demanded that the exam be held again.

Meanwhile, the school manager, Brother Anthony, said he had received indications from the local media a day earlier that an attack might take place. Authorities and police were notified. However, he alleged that the police did not provide adequate security to the school. He denied allegations that he had converted students. Brother Antony also claimed that there were no students in the school by the names of those who were allegedly converted.

Meanwhile, Bajrang Dal local leader Nilesh Agarwal has demanded a detailed probe into the allegations of conversion. He also suggested that the school be demolished if it was found to have any connection with the conversion. Security has been beefed up around the school following the violence. Police said they would take strict action against the attackers. Police have launched an investigation into a complaint that a conversion had taken place. Sub-divisional magistrate Roshan Roy told reporters that the school authorities would be questioned. The National Rights Commission has directed the Vidisha District Collector to investigate the allegations against the school.
