The International Muay Thai Sports Association (IMSA) has appointed Mr. Yoshihisa Horikoshi as their representative in Japan to lead and grow the sport of Muay Thai at an international level. Mr. Horikoshi, also known as “Bang Mad”, is a highly respected figure in the Muay Thai community.
The decision, announced by Dr. Supasak Ngaoprasertwong, Chairman and Executive Director of IMSA, comes as part of the association’s efforts to expand the reach and popularity of Muay Thai worldwide. Under Mr. Horikoshi’s leadership, Muay Thai (amateur) activities will be organized and promoted in Japan.
This move reflects IMSA’s commitment to elevate the status of Muay Thai as a global sport. The association, led by President Samart Maluleem, aims to establish representatives in various countries to coordinate and develop both professional and amateur Muay Thai.
IMSA is currently evaluating the qualifications of potential representatives in other countries. The association plans to issue licenses to these associations, further cementing the international presence and recognition of Muay Thai.
