Bayonetta 3 will be released on the 28th as a Nintendo Switch exclusive. This work is a sequel that appeared after 8 years, and tells the story of Bayonetta, who has the power of a witch, who has been sleeping for hundreds of years and then wakes up from a coffin that has sunk at the bottom of the lake and meets countless enemies to find her memories. In addition to the characters that appeared in the previous work, new characters will appear, giving players a more unique way to play.

‘New character’ and familiar faces

A new biological weapon, the Homunculus, which is different from the angels and demons that have appeared before. This being is trying to destroy the human world that Bayonetta and the others live in, in order to gain enough power to blow away the demon kingdom and the heavenly kingdom. Singularity is the mastermind behind the destruction of the world by leading the homunculus army. Although it is completely different from a homunculus as a mineral, an unknown beast that attacks Bayonetta with its huge claws will also appear. What this being wants is still unknown. In addition, four new characters appeared with the same face as Bayonetta, raising curiosity about the relationship with Bayonetta.

A new playable character will also appear. Bayonetta 3’s new character, Viola, attacks using her unique weapon Mev’s Greatsword and summons the cat-shaped beast, Cheshire. In the Bayonetta universe, Bayonetta and Jeanne are the only witches in the world who can handle magical beasts, so Viola’s identity is even more curious. Viola follows Luca, a freelance journalist from her previous job, and travels around the world. Jeanne, who appeared in the previous work, also appears as a playable character. Unlike Bayonetta and Viola, which play stylish third-person action, Jeanne comes in a more unique gameplay format.

As you progress through the story, you will be able to equip a variety of weapons such as the G-pillar and Ignis Aranea yo-yo, including the 4 Color My World pistols. By being able to use various weapons, it is possible to fight advantageously in long-range, short- and medium-range battles.

Witch Time, the technology of its predecessor, can also be found in Bayonetta 3. Bayonetta can use her hair to summon monsters or make tools for torture, and the clothes she wears are also made of hair. So, the premise is that if you summon a demon, your clothes will come off. Taking this into account, a naive angel mode is set which adjusts the exposure level of the character. When naive angel mode is turned on, the character’s clothing is relatively intact in scenes where clothing is removed or a character with high exposure appears.

Bayonetta 3 will be released on the Nintendo Switch on the 28th and will cost 64,800 won. The deluxe Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition can be purchased for 94,800 won.
