Two tractor-trailers and a Nissan SUV crashed and troopers responded about 12:45 a.m., Maryland State Police said. The tractor-trailers both jackknifed, and one began leaking fuel, police said.
The crash blocked the Inner Loop at Georgia Avenue.

Traffic was being diverted to Georgia Avenue (MD-97). Some cars were getting by on the shoulder. The Maryland State Highway Administration recommends using the Intercounty Connector (ICC/MD-200) to get to Montgomery County.
Traffic backups extended for miles to Rockville Pike (MD-355).
