Man Sets Fire to Cafe in Gunsan, Suffers Third-Degree Burns

A fire broke out at a cafe in Naun-dong, Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do, at 4:16 PM on September 11th, leaving a man in his 60s with third-degree burns all over his body.
According to the police and fire department, the man entered the cafe, sprayed flammable material on the cafe floor and on his body, and then set it on fire. The fire was extinguished by firefighters in about 20 minutes, and the employees in the cafe were evacuated immediately, with no injuries reported.
The police investigation revealed that the man was an acquaintance of the cafe’s building owner and committed the crime after he refused to lend him money. The police will conduct further investigations as the injured man’s condition improves.
