bhagyalakshmi open up | Do any of the actresses here have a fan association ?; Bhagyalakshmi asks

Dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi says that there is patriarchy in Malayalam cinema. Bhagyalakshmi said in a media conference that the words of women were never taken at face value and that the theater market here was only for men and if the Hema Commission report came out in such a situation it would affect many.

In Bhagyalakshmi’s words, the Hema Commission called me one day and talked for two or three hours. I had no interest in going. It seemed to my mind that nothing could be done. But a lot of people have a job problem and I went because I felt it was my duty to cooperate. The first thing I asked was what the Commission was going to do for women with such openness.

This is a patriarchal region. No one here takes a woman’s voice at face value. Because there is no market for women here. The theater market here is for men only. Therefore, it is not possible to bring about change here. Do any of the actresses here have a fan association? Manju Warrier may have. But how many theater owners are there who say we can take this movie if there is Manju Warrier? There will be counts on the fingers. This is not only in Kerala but in the whole of India. Therefore, this report is not like the Adoor Committee. This will affect many people.
