A suspect is in custody after a shooting that left two dead and two injured in Minnesota. vance Boelter, 57, was arrested Sunday in connection with the Minnesota lawmaker shooting, law enforcement officials said.
Boelter is accused of fatally shooting Minnesota House speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, at their home in Brooklyn Park early Saturday. He is also accused of shooting State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, at their home in Champlin, near Minneapolis.
The Sibley county Sheriff’s Office said Boelter identified himself to authorities searching for him Sunday evening. The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office released a photo of Boelter’s arrest, calling him “the face of evil.”

Authorities have said the suspect in the Minnesota lawmaker shooting targeted the lawmakers in a planned attack, arriving at their homes in a police-like uniform and mask.
Democratic Minnesota Sen.Amy Klobuchar shared a message from Yvette Hoffman on sunday, saying her husband was shot nine times and she was shot eight times.
“John is enduring many surgeries right now and is closer every hour to being out of the woods,” Yvette wrote. “He took [nine] bullet hits. I took [eight] and we are both incredibly lucky to be alive. We are gutted and devastated by the loss of Melissa and Mark. There is never a place for this kind of political hate.”

Officials said Boelter had signs in his vehicle that read “no Kings.” Cities across the United States had “No Kings” protests — expressing disapproval of the Trump administration’s ICE raids — scheduled for Saturday afternoon. The Minnesota lawmaker shooting remains under investigation.
