An Argentinian woman in her 60s broke the stereotype that only young women can win beauty pageants.

According to local Spanish media on the 24th (local time), Alejandra Rodriguez (60) was chosen as Miss Universe Buenos Aires this year.

He currently works as a lawyer and journalist. He is known to be single and not married.

Starting with this pageant, Miss Universe changed the age at which candidates can apply from 18 to 28 to 18 or older. As a result, Rodriguez was able to take first place among 34 participants between the ages of 18 and 73. Second place was in his 70s.

Rodriguez said, “I am very happy to be able to represent a new paradigm in beauty pageants,” adding, “This is because a new platform is opening that pursues not only the physical beauty of women but also other values.” She continued, “Beauty has no expiration date. If you want to be beautiful, you must believe in yourself and always be honest.”

He is supposed to participate as a representative of Buenos Aires in the Miss Universe Argentina competition which will be held on the 25th of next month.

The challenge of the representative of the Dominican Republic Heidi Cruz (47) is also attracting attention. She is a mother of two and a fitness trainer.

Cruz said, “I always wanted to participate in a beauty pageant, but I could not fulfill that dream when I became a mother of children at a young age. This year’s Miss Universe gave me the opportunity to turn my dream into reality.”
