Breaking Down Borders: CCVA and Customs Pave the Way for Seamless Trade
CCVA and Customs Launch Interconnected Computer Systems
In a significant step towards digital transformation, the Motor Vehicle Control Center (CCVA) and Customs have launched the implementation of their interconnected computer systems in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
This initiative aims to simplify procedures for users and optimize services related to motor vehicles. By interconnecting their IT systems, the CCVA and Customs will improve transparency, traceability, and efficiency in their services.
According to Zalissa Koumaré/Ouillio, Director General of CCVA, this innovation is a significant step forward. “We will be able to exchange information through our information systems, and we will not necessarily need physical documents, except for archiving,” she explained.
The interconnection currently applies to vehicles between 2 and 10 years old. The main goal is to ensure that the technical information of the vehicle and its appraisal value submitted by the customer to the BVA is consistent with what exists in the CCVA data.
Adama Ilboudo, Director General of Customs, also welcomed this innovation, stating that it will improve the performance of their services and meet the expectations of those who are administered.

“We want to move towards paperless practices, and this requires digitalization, simplification of procedures, and speed in the customs clearance process,” Adama Ilboudo emphasized.
