Actress Cameron Diaz has revealed a strict set of house rules for guests visiting her residence in New York City, citing a strong aversion to city grime. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, the 53-year-old star identified her biggest ick as shoes worn on the streets of New York City.

Diaz explained that she does not permit guests to track street dirt into her home. To maintain the cleanliness of her living space, she jokingly warned that visitors have to change your clothes to come into my house in New York.

The actress owns a luxurious condo in Walker Tower, located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. The property is valued at approximately US$9 million.

Cleanliness and Home Etiquette

The conversation regarding home etiquette was highlighted by host Drew Barrymore, who noted that Diaz’s home remains free of germs because of these strict requirements. Barrymore jokingly suggested that anyone wishing to enter the residence should put a body condom on.

Cleanliness and Home Etiquette

Despite the rigorous rules for guests, Diaz quipped that she is comfortable with the environment herself, stating, Yeah, I roll around on my floors. It’s OK.

Return to the Screen

Diaz’s appearance on the show coincided with the promotion of her new black comedy film, Outcome. The film features Diaz alongside Keanu Reeves, Jonah Hill, and Matt Bomer. In the movie, Diaz plays Kyle, a longtime friend of the protagonist, Reef, played by Reeves. The plot follows Reef as he attempts to apologize for his past while being blackmailed with outrageous video footage.

Diaz described Outcome as a cautionary comedy that explores the darker side and the cost of celebrity life. The project also marked a professional reunion for Diaz and Reeves, who previously starred together 30 years ago in the 1996 romantic comedy Feeling Minnesota. Diaz recalled being very green during that first collaboration, as it was only her fourth film.

This role follows her initial return to acting in the 2025 film Back in Action with Jamie Foxx. Diaz had spent a decade away from the spotlight before deciding to return to the industry. She noted that she had been perfectly happy living her life and doing other things outside of filmmaking before receiving a call from Foxx regarding an action comedy project.

Career Background

Over a 20-year span, Diaz appeared in 38 movies. Her extensive filmography includes several high-profile roles in the following productions:

  • My Best Friend’s Wedding
  • There’s Something About Mary
  • My Sister’s Keeper
  • Shrek
  • The Other Woman
  • Charlie’s Angels

The actress’s recent activities emphasize a transition back into the film industry after a long hiatus, while maintaining her personal standards for her New York City home.
