At the age of fourteen, Shihab, the eldest breadwinner in his family, flew to Dubai to make a living. Despite his initial disinterest in academics, he found solace in painting during his small jobs in the country. His talent was recognized when the manager of his office, Preeti Chechi, saw his work and encouraged him to pursue design, which ultimately led to a promotion as a document manager.

Shihab’s artistic journey began with portraits, drawing inspiration from his teachers and the indescribable happiness he found in his work. His love for art continued to evolve as he captured the essence of his surroundings, from street scenes to the faces of his friends. In 2018, he used his art to raise funds for flood victims, a testament to his commitment to using his talent for the greater good.

While in Qatar, Shihab’s artistic prowess shone through in film exhibitions and outdoor painting collaborations. His dedication to his craft is unwavering, with plans to participate in the World Art Dubai event in 2024 and preparation for an exhibition at the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi in the same year.

Shihab’s artistic journey has not been without recognition, as he recently sold a piece for a substantial price, a nod to his growing reputation as an artist. His passion for art has also been passed down to his children, who have all shown interest in different areas of the craft.
