Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki made this statement at the ‘Global Seminar for Promotion of the Green New Deal and Reinforcement of International Climate Cooperation’ held in Glasgow, UK on the 2nd.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said in a video welcome speech on the same day, “We will greatly expand financial policy support such as climate response budgets and tax systems from next year, and introduce a carbon-aware budget system.” In addition, he added, “a process conversion policy is necessary to ensure that certain industries, regions, and workers do not fall behind in the process of transitioning to carbon neutrality.”

To this end, the government will invest 73.4 trillion won, or 3.8% of the gross domestic product, in green new deals such as new and renewable energy by 2025, and will more than triple the size of the green business support of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Fund to respond to climate change. plan.
