‘Shock’ Dutch future born in 2002 considers retirement due to depression

[스포츠조선 김가을 기자]It’s a shock. It has been reported that midfield prospect Mohamed Ihataren (Sampdoria), born in 2002, is considering retiring due to depression.

The British media Sports Bible reported on the 3rd (Korean time) that ‘Ihataren, one of the most exciting futures in Dutch football, is considering retiring at the age of 19. It was due to depression.”

Ihataren is a rising star in the Netherlands. He played for PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands before joining Juventus ahead of the season. Ihataren scored 10 goals in 74 appearances for Eindhoven. He was loaned to Sampdoria shortly after his transfer to Juventus. The problem is that he hasn’t played for even a minute since the transfer.

Citing a report by Calcio Mercato, the media said, “The situation surrounding Ihataren is very worrying. He is struggling with depression following the death of his father in 2019. He is considering quitting for mental health. Sampdoria tried to help him, but he did not show up. Ihataren returned to the Netherlands for personal reasons.”
