Thiruvananthapuram ∙ The government is in crisis following the controversial remarks made by minister Saji Cherian against the country’s constitution. The controversial speech of the minister was that India has a constitution that is suitable for robbing the most people. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan sought an explanation from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan about the Minister who took oath of allegiance to the Constitution and rejected the same Constitution.
The Governor is of the position that if the Chief Minister does not take action, he can decide what is required. The Governor responded to the media saying that the Constitution is a firm belief in nationalism and I hope the Chief Minister will take care of this. Saji Cherian explained to the Chief Minister personally and later in the assembly that he criticized the administration and not the constitution and expressed his regret.
If there is no action against the minister, the opposition has decided to approach the court. The KPCC group submitted a petition to the Governor demanding the dismissal of Minister Saji Cherian, who openly insulted the Constitution and the architects of the Constitution and violated his oath of office. UDF and BJP leaders also filed a complaint. The Youth Congress State Committee has lodged a complaint with the DGP demanding a criminal case against the minister. These were sent to the Chief Minister by the Governor. It is known that the government has received legal advice that if the court intervenes, the problem will become serious.
