Thodupuzha: Another person has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of SFI activist Dheeraj Rajendran (21) at Idukki Painavu Government Engineering College. Youth Congress Idukki district general secretary and Kanjikuzhi panchayat member Soimon Sunny was arrested. He was taken into police custody from his house in Chelachuvad. The arrest will be recorded soon. So far seven people have been arrested in the case.
On January 10, SFI unit committee member Dheeraj Rajendran, a computer science student from Taliparamba, Kannur, was stabbed to death during a clash during the union elections at the College of Engineering. Abhijit T. Sunil (21) from Thrissur and AS Amal (23) from Kollam were injured in the attack.
