Drama to embezzle 20 lakhs from Dulabhai

Two youths were caught by the police while making a false complaint of extorting money at Kaliganj police station in Jhenaidah. The arrested youths are Ismail Hossain son of Anwar Hossain of Khilgati village of Shalikha upazila of Magura and Miraj Hossain son of Akhter Hossain of the same village.

Jhenaidah Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Mir Abidur Rahman gave this information in a press briefing at Kaliganj police station at 6:30 pm on Monday (November 13). OC Mahabubur Rahman of Kaliganj police station was present.

He said that Ismail Hossain and his cousin Miraj Hossain were going to Khilgati village of Shalikha upazila after withdrawing Tk 19 lakh 40 thousand from Kaliganj branch of National Bank on November 12. At that time, two unidentified persons came to Mostabapur village area of ​​the upazila and stopped them and robbed them of Tk 19 lakh 40 thousand. They came to the police station on Monday afternoon to make such false allegations. When the police suspected, the two were interrogated. During the interrogation, they kept talking randomly.

He also said that since Ismail Hossain lost approximately 20 lakh taka by playing One X bet, his brother-in-law, Malaysian expatriate Atiyar Rahman, arranged a robbery with the intention of fraudulently embezzling 19 lakh 40 thousand taka. According to the information given by them, the police recovered 8 lakh 40 thousand rupees after raiding Ismail’s house.
