Have you ever thought about the flying bike you see in Hollywood movies, whizzing down the street? Such a view is not far-reaching. Giant drone-like bikes will now whiz through the air at speeds of 100 kilometers per hour. It is designed to be a combination of a drone and a bicycle.
Company officials say the X Turismo, a flying bike, will soon begin manufacturing in the UAE. The company aims to produce up to five units per month. Yuma Takenaka, Executive Manager, Global Marketing, Airwins, said that the company aims to start production of Turismo hoverbikes in Abu Dhabi from next year. He explained that it is planned to mass produce hover bikes in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with another company. Airwins is the manufacturer of turismo hover bikes. Aerwins is headquartered in Delaware.

A prototype of the Hover Bike has been displayed at Gitex Global 2022, the world’s largest technology exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Centre. More than 55000 companies from all over the world will take part in the exhibition during the Expo which will continue from October 10 to 14. The company displayed the Turismo at the Detroit Auto Show in September and gave a live demo to the media.
Priced at Dh2.85 million, the single-seater flying bike weighs 300 kg. The maximum weight capacity of the bike is 100 kg. This bike can travel at a maximum speed of 100 km per hour. Reports say it can fly at a distance of more than six kilometers. Sales of Turismo bikes started last year. About 10 units have been sold in Japan so far. Hoverbikes are not considered aircraft, so no separate licensing has yet been introduced. Turismo bikes are currently only allowed to fly on racetracks.
