The decision follows changes made over the weekend. Officials have made it clear that parking zones in Dubai will no longer have to pay on Fridays. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, issued the resolution on Monday.

Parking will be free on public holidays as well. The new resolution stipulates that parking must be paid for 14 hours, from 8am to 10pm on Mondays to Saturdays. However, in multi-level parking facilities, a parking fee is charged 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Parking will only be allowed for four consecutive hours in roadside parking slots.
