‘Ensuring Justice’; IOC and World Wrestling Federation to support Sports wrestlers | Deshabhimani

New Delhi The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the world wrestling organization United World Wrestling (UWW) have strongly criticized the denial of justice to wrestlers and the intervention of the police. PCC has condemned the violence against the players. The organization has warned that the Wrestling Federation of India will be banned if the elections are not conducted properly. The IOC’s response was to conduct an independent investigation. The President of the Wrestling Federation of India and BJP MP, Brijbhushan Singh, who is facing sexual allegations, is protesting against the country’s top wrestling stars. On the last day, stars including Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia came to throw the medals in the river Ganga. In this situation, PCC and IOC came with support. The IOC has asked Brijbhushan to expedite the investigation and take action against him. The IOC also said that it should be investigated in accordance with the law of the land and impartially. PCC also demanded an impartial investigation into the players’ complaints. He also warned that the Wrestling Federation of India will be banned if the officers are not elected within forty five days. A report is sought from the Indian Olympic Association and the ad hoc committee regarding the election. The PCW team will hold a meeting with the impressive players. Their health and safety will be assessed. The IOC has asked the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to take all possible steps to ensure the safety of the athletes.
