Espionage | AfD man Maximilian Krah: EU Parliament suspends employees

In the morning it became known that an employee of the AfD politician Krah had been arrested. Now the EU Parliament is suspending the man. After the arrest of an employee of the AfD politician Maximilian Krah for spying for China, the European Parliament has drawn conclusions. “Given the seriousness of the revelations, Parliament has suspended the person in question with immediate effect,” a parliament spokeswoman told AFP on Tuesday. Krah’s employee Jian G. was arrested in Dresden on Monday on charges of being an agent. “Parliament will work with the relevant authorities and take appropriate follow-up measures,” the parliament speaker continued. G. worked as an accredited assistant in Krah’s office in the EU Parliament, who is the AfD’s top candidate in Germany for the European elections. The Federal Prosecutor General accuses G. of acting as an agent for a foreign secret service in a particularly serious case. The investigators specifically accuse the man of passing on information about negotiations in the EU Parliament and spying on Chinese opposition members in Germany.
