The Kremlin announced on the 7th (local time) that Russian President Vladimir Putin had an interview with Tucker Carlson, a leading anchor of the American conservative media outlet Fox News.
According to Reuters, the Kremlin confirmed that President Putin had completed an interview with Carlson in Moscow the day before.
This is the first time that Putin has met with Western journalists since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Carlson was a popular anchor who hosted Fox News’ flagship program, ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ for seven years, and is a far-right commentator who has maintained a close relationship with former President Donald Trump.

He also caused controversy by claiming that the results of the 2020 US presidential election were manipulated and by making comments justifying Russia’s aggressive actions over the war in Ukraine.

Citing a report from the American Daily Wall Street Journal (WSJ), TASS reported that the interview is likely to be broadcast on the 8th.
