Thiruvananthapuram – In a significant development, the former SFI leader Nikhil Thomas has been suspended from Kerala University due to his involvement in forging a fake degree certificate. As a consequence, Nikhil’s academic journey in the university comes to an abrupt end as he is prohibited from studying or appearing for any exams. This ban is indeed a lifetime one, and it has been imposed by the University Syndicate, underscoring the seriousness of the offense.

A thorough investigation into Nikhil’s actions has been initiated, with the teachers and authorities at MSM College, where he was enrolled, being summoned for questioning. Spearheaded by the registrar, a special committee has been established to seek clarification on the matter. Meanwhile, Nikhil remains in police custody while authorities intensify efforts to verify the authenticity of other certificates. In order to ensure stringent scrutiny, a dedicated cell has been set up specifically for certificates originating from outside the state.

The investigation has revealed that Nikhil Thomas joined MSM College in Kayamkulam to pursue a Master of Commerce (MCom) degree without completing his Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) studies. The Vice Chancellor of Kerala University, the Registrar of Kalinga University, and the Principal of MSM College have all confirmed that the documents submitted by Nikhil from Kalinga Chhattisgarh University are indeed fraudulent. Consequently, Nikhil was subsequently expelled from both the college and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM).
