Formula E will be held in Tokyo in 2024.

On October 4 (Wednesday), Formula E CEO Jamie Reigle visited the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and held a signing ceremony with Governor Yuriko Koike. The course is expected to be around Tokyo Big Sight (Koto Ward), etc., and both parties will cooperate to ensure complete safety.

Efforts aimed at the spread of zero emission vehicles (ZEV) are spreading around the world, and by holding Formula E, an electric vehicle race, in Tokyo, we will support the creation of an environmentally advanced city.

Governor Yuriko Koike said, “Using the world’s most prestigious race as a trigger, we want to spread all electric vehicles at once and give momentum to the big goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to near zero.”

Jaime Reigl said, “I am honored to announce that Formula E will take place in 2024. I would like to expand the possibilities of ZEV in the future.”

Formula E is a world championship organized by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile). Many former F1 drivers take part in the race and hold street races as the world’s premier races. It was held in South Korea for the first time this year.
