Raipur: Four people were killed when a car rammed into a rally as part of Dussehra celebrations in Chhattisgarh. The incident took place during a rally in Jashpur Nagar. The deceased has been identified as Gaurav Agarwala, 21, of Pathalgaon, Jashpur. Scenes of the accident came out. Several people were injured in the incident.
At least 16 people were seriously injured. The injured were rushed to Pathalgaon Civil Hospital.
The car was speeding. The driver has been arrested. Cannabis and intoxicants were seized from the car. Bablu Vishwakarma and Shishapal Sahu from Madhya Pradesh were in the car.
The SUV was speeding towards the crowd that was moving with the fort on the road. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Bagal said on Twitter that the culprits had been arrested and an inquiry had been ordered.
The Jashpur incident is very sad and heartbreaking.
The culprits were immediately arrested. Prima facie action has also been taken against the police officers who appeared guilty.
An inquiry has been ordered. No one will be spared.
Justice will be done to all.
