PARIS — Novak Djokovic overcame Alexander Zverev in a hard-fought French Open quarterfinal, winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.A pivotal 41-stroke rally in the fourth set shifted the momentum, propelling Djokovic to victory.
Despite entering the tournament ranked No. 6 and enduring recent losing streaks, the 38-year-old Djokovic demonstrated his enduring determination. He now stands two wins away from a record 25th Grand Slam title.
Djokovic’s semifinal opponent will be No. 1 Jannik Sinner,who advanced by defeating Alexander Bublik in straight sets,6-1,7-5,6-0. Sinner has not dropped a set in the tournament.
