Following the Spark-to-Task update, the Gemini app has now rolled out redesigns of the side panel and settings on Android. The visual overhaul, which first arrived on iOS, macOS, and the web app last week alongside the launch of Gemini 4 Argon, introduces a streamlined side panel and a unified settings menu following a server-side update.
Android Side Panel Layout And Search Placement
The Android revamp moves the search function directly to the top-right corner of the interface. In the navigation structure, New chat remains the first item in the list, while Library now appears immediately next rather than sitting near the bottom.
To prevent clutter in the navigation drawer, Gemini now displays only five items by default. Users can tap a More option to expand the full list of recent chats and features.
For subscribers using the AI Ultra plan, the complete expanded side panel list includes New chat, Library, Images, Scheduled, Daily brief, Customize, Students, Videos, and Gems.
Consolidated Settings And Preferences Structure
Google has also reorganized the app settings by merging preferences that were previously split between the account menu and separate Gemini Settings pages. The account menu is now restricted solely to switching accounts, providing Feedback, or accessing Help.
The newly consolidated Settings page opens with Manage account and Usage limits at the top. Under Preferences, users can access Notifications, Personal Intelligence, Avatar, Task settings, a new Theme option, Skills, Voice, Media, Device controls, Cart and orders, and Gemini Notebook.
Two additional dedicated sections round out the unified menu. The Data and privacy section houses Import memory, Contact info from your devices, Gemini Apps Activity, Your public links, and the Privacy Help Hub, while the Get support section includes Help, Report a problem, About, and Updates.
