Genesis announced on the 27th that it had launched the European strategic model ‘G70 Shooting Brake’ in the domestic market. At first, it was predicted that the possibility of launching the wagon in the domestic market where demand for the wagon was low was low, but Genesis explained that the launch was decided to increase customer choice.
The G70 Shooting Brake is a wagon-type model that enlarges the trunk space on the exterior of the sports sedan G70, and has the same sleek proportions as the coupe.
The second row seats can be completely folded down, and the trunk capacity is 465 liters, which is 40% wider than the G70 sedan. When the rear seats are folded, the capacity is secured up to 1535L.

The G70 Shooting Brake is operated with a gasoline 2.0 turbo single powertrain and has a maximum output of 252 horsepower and a maximum torque of 36.0 kg·m. Fuel economy is 10.4 km/L based on combined fuel economy.
For safety and convenience, 10 airbag systems were applied, including center side airbags for front seats. Driving assistance functions such as navigation-based smart cruise control, lane keeping assistance, highway driving assistance, and front and rear parking distance warning are also included. A smart electric trunk that automatically opens the trunk door when you hold the smart key and stand behind the trunk for 3 seconds is standard.
The G70 Shooting Brake is also available as a sports model. The sports model is equipped with an electronically controlled suspension that maximizes driving stability and ride comfort by automatically controlling the damping force of the vehicle in an optimal state according to the driving situation, and a differential limiter that helps stable cornering while maintaining engine power.
Sales start on the 7th of next month. The price starts at 43.1 million won for the basic model and 47.03 million won for the sports model.

Genesis introduced a different way of selling the G70 Shooting Brake to provide a differentiated purchasing experience.
100 models to which customer preference is applied are first produced, and vehicles are delivered as soon as possible in the so-called ‘open run’ method, in which they are shipped out immediately through first-come-first-served sales on the first day of sales.
Sales other than Open Run are carried out through Genesis’ existing sales method, ‘Your Genesis’ (personalized sales method).
To commemorate the launch of the G70 Shooting Brake, Genesis plans to exhibit the vehicle at the ‘2022 Busan International Motor Show’ to be held from the 15th of next month and provide an opportunity for a test drive.
A Genesis official said, “We have launched the G70 Shooting Brake in Korea to meet the needs of customers who pursue a variety of lifestyles as well as cars and camping, and to broaden customer choices.”
