Genesis Lab Releases Major Update for Mental Health Self-Assessment App, ‘Dr.Listen’

Genesis Lab, an artificial intelligence (AI) company led by CEO Lee Young-bok, recently announced a major update to their mental health self-assessment app, Dr.Listen. Developed in collaboration with Seoul National University Hospital, Dr.Listen offers a comprehensive “mental health self-assessment and management” service, allowing users to regularly monitor the mental well-being of themselves and their loved ones.

Previously, Dr.Listen focused on self-assessment and analysis of major mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder. However, with this recent update, the app has expanded its coverage to include a wider range of mental illnesses. It now provides advanced evaluations for depression and bipolar disorder, as well as evaluations for anxiety disorders and trauma and stress-related disorders. The update also includes information about organizations that offer assistance for mental health, mental health guidance, and support calls.

One notable improvement in the advanced evaluation of depression and bipolar disorder is the use of an algorithm that considers all time zones, enhancing accuracy and analytical power. Additionally, the app now features a self-assessment function for anxiety disorders, which are prevalent among modern individuals but often go unnoticed without professional examination.

To address this issue, Dr.Listen allows users to self-assess the possibility of anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, agoraphobia, social phobia, specific phobia, and generalized anxiety disorder, through a series of simple questions. This feature not only provides users with an understanding of their condition but also offers advice on treatment and management.

Furthermore, the app includes self-assessment tools for traumatic and stress-related disorders, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and adjustment disorder. It also offers a mental health information map, which assists users in locating mental health service organizations based on their geographical location. Dr.Listen currently provides information on approximately 2,000 organizations nationwide, including mental health welfare centers, psychological support centers, suicide prevention centers, and mental health hospitals and clinics.

An additional feature, HelpCall, enables users to directly contact specialist organizations, such as Suicide Prevention Counselling, Mental Health Counselling, Children and Young People’s Counselling, and Helping Youth and Women, through telephone counseling or text messaging when assistance is needed.

Lee Young-bok, the CEO of Genesis Lab, emphasized the importance of regular check-ups and management for mental health. He also highlighted the tendency to overlook active examinations and treatments for mental health compared to physical illnesses.

In the future, Genesis Lab plans to include self-assessment functions for obsessive-compulsive disorder and sleep-wake disorder in the app, further expanding its capabilities.

Artificial intelligence (AI) company Genesis Lab (CEO Lee Young-bok) announced on the 31st that it has carried out a large-scale update of ‘Dr.Listen’, a mental health self-assessment app.

Developed in collaboration with Seoul National University Hospital, DoctorListen provides a ‘mental health self-assessment and management’ service. It is an app that allows you to continuously check the mental health status of yourself or your family.

Current Dr Leeson has provided self assessment and analysis of major mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder. With this update, the types of mental illness have been expanded, ▲advanced evaluation of depression and bipolar disorder, ▲evaluation of anxiety disorder, ▲trauma and stress-related disorders, information about organizations that can receive help for mental health, ▲ mental health information guidance, and ▲ support calls added. .

In the case of the advanced evaluation of depression and bipolar disorder, it is explained that, unlike the previous questions that focused on the current state, accuracy and analytical power have been improved by using an algorithm that considers all time zones.

In addition, a self-assessment function for ‘anxiety disorder’, which causes discomfort in physical symptoms and daily life due to anxious feelings, has been added. Although anxiety is a representative mental illness of modern people, it often develops into a serious condition without professional examination.

To prevent this, you can self-assess the possibility of representative anxiety disorders such as ‘panic disorder’, ‘agonophobia’, ‘social phobia’, ‘specific phobia’, and ‘generalized anxiety disorder’ with simple questions and answers. You can also get advice on the direction of treatment or management.

In addition, self-assessment of ‘traumatic and stress-related disorders’ such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and adjustment disorder can be found, as well as mental health information guides and call support functions.

Specifically, the mental health information map is a function that navigates mental health service organizations based on the user’s location. Currently, Dr Leeson provides information on approximately 2,000 organizations across the country, including mental health welfare centres, psychological support centres, suicide prevention centres, and mental health hospitals and clinics.

HelpCall is a function that allows you to directly contact specialist organizations such as ‘Suicide Prevention Counselling’, ‘Mental Health Counselling’, ‘Children and Young People’s Counselling’, and ‘Helping Youth and Women’ through telephone counseling or by text message when you need help. .

Lee Young-bok, CEO of Genesis Lab, said, “Periodic check-ups and regular management are very important for mental health, but it is true that active examinations and treatments are neglected in preparation for physical diseases.” he said.

Meanwhile, Genesis Lab plans to add a self-assessment function for obsessive-compulsive disorder and sleep-wake disorder in the second half of this year.
