Nigeria overcame Ghana wiht a 2-1 victory in a compelling Unity Cup semifinal match. Despite a strong second-half showing and a goal from Brandon Thomas Asante, Ghana’s youthful squad couldn’t overcome Nigeria’s early lead at the GTech Community Stadium in Brentford.
Ghana’s coach, otto Addo, introduced debutants Aaron Essel and Christopher bonsu Baah into a lineup that also featured Jordan Ayew. The team featured Gideon Mensah and Kamaradini Mamudu as wing-backs, with Abdul samed Salis and Majemeru Ashimeru in midfield, supporting a front three of Ayew, Kwame Opoku, and Bonsu Baah.
