[디지털투데이 AI리포터] Media IT Phone Arena reported on the 20th (local time) that Google’s “Pixel 6 Pro” smartphone has been involved in a lawsuit in the United States due to overheating problems.

Jennifer Hyatt, the Pixel 6 Pro buyer who filed the lawsuit, said: “The Pixel 6 Pro has a defect that causes it to overheat.” She then said: “Even though Google was aware of the flaw, it failed to alert consumers.”

Jennifer Hyatt pointed to an article on Google’s website titled “Help your Pixel phone not get too hot or too hot” as evidence that Google was aware of the Pixel 6 Pro’s overheating issue.

Additionally, Jennifer Hyatt said, “Even though Google was aware of the flaw, it advertised to consumers as if there were no problems with the Pixel 6 Pro.”

Through this lawsuit, Jennifer Hyatt is calling on Google to recall all Pixel 6 Pro devices and provide refunds to those who purchased the devices. She continued: “Through this lawsuit, we would like to represent California consumers who purchased the Pixel 6 Pro in California, United States.”

According to the lawsuit, Google violated the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act, the False Advertising Act, the Unfair Competition Act, and the Song-Beverley Consumer Guarantee Act. However, the media reported that it is not yet clear whether this lawsuit will go to trial or will be rejected by the court.
