GOYANG, South Korea – In a grand event held at the Goyang Kintex PBA Stadium, the opening ceremony of the highly anticipated ‘Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League 2023-2024’ marked the beginning of an exciting journey. The league, set to run for approximately seven months, aims to captivate billiards enthusiasts and elevate the sport to new heights.
Attending the opening ceremony were esteemed guests including Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang, PBA President Kim Young-soo, sponsors and partners, officials from the Professional Billiards Association, and an impressive lineup of 200 players.
This season promises to be the most thrilling one yet, with the introduction of two new teams, ‘High1 Resort’ and ‘Warners SY Bazaar’, bringing the total number of teams to nine. With an increased number of game days from 7 to 9, fans can relish in 36 captivating games featuring their favorite star players.
The league has also revamped its ranking system, transitioning from the current riding system to a more dynamic points system. This strategic move is expected to increase the excitement and unpredictability of each match, delighting fans and players alike.

[고양=이기홍기자] On the 3rd, the opening ceremony of the ‘Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League 2023-2024’ was held at the ‘Goyang Kintex PBA Stadium’. This league starts with round 1 on the 3rd and continues for about 7 months until round 5 and the post season.
The opening ceremony was attended by Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang, PBA President Kim Young-soo, representatives of sponsors and partners, officials from the Professional Billiards Association, and 200 players.
This season, the team league will operate with a total of nine teams, with two new teams, ‘High1 Resort’ and ‘Warners SY Bazaar’. The number of game days has also increased from 7 days (28 games) to 9 days (36 games), so billiards fans can enjoy more games of star players.
In addition, the league ranking rules are being changed from the current riding system to the points system, which is expected to make the game more interesting.
