[Tokyo Branch]On the 3rd day of the 52nd Meiji Jingu Baseball Tournament, two high school quarterfinals were held at Jingu Stadium in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, and Hanamaki Higashi (first appearance), the representative of the Tohoku region, was in Shikoku. He defeated the district representative Kochi (fourth time in nine years) 6-2 to enter the top four.
It is the first time in six years since Aomori Yamada of the 46th tournament in 2015 that the Tohoku region representative has entered the top four.
