Heavy rain advisory for Incheon and Gyeonggi… 30mm of heavy rain per hour in Seoul

[이데일리 김경은 기자] Heavy rain warnings are in effect for the Incheon and Gyeonggi areas, and as of 4pm on the 19th, heavy rains of around 30mm per hour are falling in Seoul and northern Gyeonggi Province.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, heavy rain is falling in eastern Gyeonggi, Gangwonyeongseo, and Seoul as strong rain clouds accompanied by thunder and lightning near Hwanghae Province, North Korea, move southeast at a speed of 40 km/h .

Heavy rain advisories are in effect for Ganghwa, Incheon, and Paju and Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do.

It also rains 5 mm per hour in Gangwon-do, North Chungcheong Province, and North Gyeongsangbuk-do.

By the time people leave work, 20 to 30 mm of rain per hour is expected to be concentrated in southern Gyeonggi-do and some areas in Yeongseo, Gangwon-do.

Most of the metropolitan area will stop tonight, but it will start raining in other southern regions tomorrow morning.

20~70mm of rain is expected in eastern Gyeonggi, Yeongseo, Chungcheong, and North Gyeongsang Province, and 5~50mm in other areas such as Seoul.
