Disciplinary action was taken against the leader who misbehaved with a woman leader during the Youth Congress Chintan camp held in Palakkad. Vivek H Nair, a member of the state executive committee and a native of Thiruvananthapuram, was expelled from the primary membership by the national leadership. Vivek has also been excluded from the primary membership of the Congress.

The incident of which the complaint was filed was on Saturday, the second day of Chintan Shibirath. According to the complaint of a woman leader from Thiruvananthapuram, Vivek, who was intoxicated while going to the washroom, spoke in a sexual manner and many others had the same experience. The national leadership considered the complaint and expelled Vivek from the primary membership of the Youth Congress. National Secretary in charge of Kerala C.B. Pushpalatha informed about this. Thiruvananthapuram DCC president also announced that Vivek was expelled from the primary membership of the Congress after the announcement of the national leadership.

At the same time, one section alleges that the girl did not file a complaint and sent the complaint on behalf of another girl. It is also mysterious that the copy of the complaint was released. They claim that the girl had complained to the management as soon as the misbehavior had occurred and they were satisfied with the assurance that action would be taken. In the meantime, it is alleged that the complaint was prepared and sent as part of an attempt by some to malign the organization.

The leaders reiterate that no such complaint has come before the state leadership. In that case, there will be an inquiry in the case of directly approaching the central leaders.
