Seo Se-win “I was scammed too, but I’m trying to pay it back” replied

Amid claims that the late Seo Se-won, who died suddenly in Cambodia, suffered hardships in life, it was reported that the real creditor appeared at the mortuary.

According to Sports Seoul on the 1st, creditor A, who loaned investment money to Seo Se-won, went to the Asan Medical Center funeral home in Seoul that day. During the conversation between Mr. A and the grieving family, there was a moment of commotion, but it is known that the conversation was carried out safely.

In a media interview, Mr. A said, “I trusted Mr. Seo Se-enill and gave him investment money (coin), but it was different from the first guide. So, we decided to get the investment money back, but we haven’t received part of the bond amount yet.”

In addition, “Two years have already passed since the deceased said he would repay the bond amount. Some of them were refunded, but I didn’t receive the remaining amount,” he said, “I don’t know who I should get the rest from because he left like this.”

Looking at the text message released by Mr. And, Seo Se-won appealed, “I was scammed too, but I’m trying to do well. I’ll try to send it to you when everything comes in bit by bit. Please wait a few days.” Seo Se-won is said to have told Mr. A that his refund is being delayed due to the hardships of life.

Previously, through a YouTube channel, an allegation was raised among those who helped Seo Se-won in Cambodia, “Seo Se-won didn’t really have money, and he said he was so tired that he couldn’t eat three meals properly.” There was also evidence that he came to me about a month before his death to ask for a loan of 6 million won, saying he had no living expenses.

Seo Se-won, who first appeared on Radio TBC in 1979, became famous as a stand-up comedian in the 1990s. In 1995, he received the KBS Comedy Grand Prize for ‘Seo Se-won Show’, and in 1997, he received a commendation from the Minister of Culture and Sports.

However, he left the entertainment industry as controversies such as embezzlement of film production costs and overseas gambling arose. In particular, when the allegations of assaulting his wife Seo Jung-hee in 2014 became known, the public was shocked. He was sentenced to 6 months in prison and 2 years probation, and divorced the following year by agreement.

Afterwards, Seo Se-won, who moved to Cambodia after turning to a minister and businessman, remarried a 23-year-old haegeum player named Kim in 2016. In 2020, it is known that he participated in a complex construction project $ 2.5 billion (about 3 trillion won), including Cambodia’s national sports television station.

Meanwhile, Seo Se-win died on the 20th of cardiac arrest while receiving an intravenous drip at Mirae Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The bereaved family cremated the body on the 28th and moved the remains to Korea for a funeral.

Fellow comedian Lee Yong-sik was the first to visit the mortuary, and Gyeongbuk Governor Lee Cheol-woo and People’s Power Representative Joo Ho-young, who was related to him, appeared. Singers Kim Heung-guk and Seol Woon-do, as well as 30 artificial flowers sent by broadcasters, entertainment companies, and people from all walks of life, were also placed at the end of the deceased.
