The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that taxpayers paid 5.24 billion KM in public revenue in the period January – August 2024, which is 394.5 million KM more than the same period in 2023, or 8.13 percent.
Public Revenue Collection Structure
The public revenue collection structure for the period January-August 2024 is as follows:
- Profit tax and arrears of profit tax: 485,866,674 KM
- Total income tax and arrears of personal tax: 505,649,952 KM
- Real estate and rights turnover tax: 60,828,888 KM
- Property, inheritance, and gift tax: 36,762,076 KM
- Arrears of other taxes: 309,882 KM
- Fees and charges: 501,495,574 KM
- Fines: 44,731,999 KM
- Membership fees: 11,883,665 KM
- Other public revenue: 2,639,695 KM
Contributions for Pension and Disability Insurance, Health Insurance, and Unemployment
In the period January – August 2024, contributions for pension and disability insurance, health insurance, and unemployment totaled 3.59 billion KM.
The structure of the contributions for the period January – August 2024 is as follows:
- Contributions for PIO/MIO: 2,011,106,344 KM
- Contributions for health insurance: 1,417,681,062 KM
- Unemployment insurance contributions: 165,155,970 KM
Number of Employees in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina
The number of workers in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by place of residence of the worker on August 31, 2024, totals 545,192.
This number is higher than the published data on the number of employees on 31 August 2023, when the number of employees was 539,976, by 5,216. However, it is lower than the previously published data on the number of employees on 31 July 2024, when it was 547,980, by 2,788.
On 31 August 2024, 305,580 men (56.05%) and 239,612 women (43.95%) were employed in the Federation of BiH. The number of workers under the age of 35 is 175,061 (32.11%), and the number of workers who are older than 36 is 370,131 (67.89%).
