KEIKO Talks After Subarachnoid Hemorrhage | or Web Portal Entertainment News

KEIKO showed rich expression during the interview

It’s been about 12 years since I collapsed from a subarachnoid hemorrhage in 2011. KEIKO (aged 50) from globe, who has been away from music for a long time, released his first new song in more than ten years last December.WHITE OUT”, and in January this year, he started a regular radio program in Oita. The total number of CD sales is around 30 million. She, who built a career as a Heisei-era diva, responded to a media interview for the first time since being affected by illness in 2011.

The accident happened in the evening in October 2011. KEIKO, who complained of poor physical condition at home and was transported by ambulance, was diagnosed with subarachnoid hemorrhage and underwent an operation that lasted more than 5 hours. KEIKO fell into a coma and was taken to the EICU (Emergency Intensive Care Unit), where more than a week had passed when he woke up. After being in hospital for about a month, Keiko returned to his home in Tokyo to continue his medical treatment.

At the moment, there is no problem with his physical strength, and sometimes he rides his bike and goes out alone. I used to have a daily routine of walking, Pilates and yoga.

“I started playing golf under the influence of my mother. It’s been about a year, so my score is still there, but it’s great to be able to play a sport even at 70.

As part of my rehabilitation, I also do housework. I’m not very good at cooking, but I’m mostly responsible for cleaning and washing. (laughs) When I was busy with work, I didn’t do much about the house, so it feels fresh, and when I think about it now, I was cheeky. I am very grateful for the existence of my family. Even if you say something you don’t like, you can listen to him honestly, and if you don’t, it can be difficult.” (KEIKO, same below)

At the same time as training her brain, she has been rehabilitating as a singer. Her ex-husband Tetsuya Komuro (age 64), who took KEIKO to the recording studio after being released from the hospital, revealed in the retirement interview held in January 2018, “I felt that there was no I have the desire to sing. “

“I remember him going to the studio to try to sing, but my memory is vague. I still go to karaoke a lot, and I love Miyuki Nakajima, so I sing “Akujo” and sing my own songs.

“FACES PLACES”, which is my favorite in the world, is a good way to test how far your voice has come out. It is difficult because there are very low and very high places, but I wonder if this key will still come out. If you try it, it will become a barometer to check how far your voice has returned. I’m only about the karaoke level, but I think I’m back to about 70% of my peak.”

In 1997, KEIKO, the “Heisei diva”, performed a tour of four large domes, attracting more than 1 million people. Her life and her songs are inseparable. The starting point is a neck competition that I participated in in my hometown of Oita when I was in the third grade in elementary school.

“My father recommended that I sing Kazuko Matsumura’s ‘Come back home’. I didn’t realize myself (about my singing talent), but my father wanted me to sing from an early age. When I was little, I was Pink. Lady.Toka (Matsuda) I admired Seiko-chan. In my elementary school collection, I wrote that I wanted to be a comedian to hide my embarrassment, but in reality I wanted to be an idol. watching “The Top Ten” (TBS series), I used to do a lot of simulations, thinking about how I would like to appear.”

“Zamamiro” in the comments section

When I was in high school, I formed a copy band for Princess Princess, but after graduating, I got a job at a hotel in Kyoto.

“I was going to take over the family business, so I worked in the Japanese food service at a hotel as part of my training. However, I couldn’t stop thinking about singing. At that time, I fell on stage and it was very painful, but I did it with guts.”

The story of Cinderella from then on is well known. 1995’s first single “Feel like a dance” sold 950,000 copies, and the 4th album “DEPARTURES” topped the double million mark. First album “globe” sold 4.5 million copies, breaking the Japanese record at the time.

“I remember being told, ‘Oyage! It’s been since Taiyaki-kun,’ but I didn’t really feel it. I wonder if it’s like that? ‘ Not long ago, I was an employee of a company that sang in a karaoke box in Osaka, so I guess I didn’t know how to be happy.

When you watch videos from that time on YouTube, comments are attached. It is a great encouragement to read. Even if sometimes I write something I don’t like, I don’t mind because I have a convenient personality. Even when I got sick, there were a lot of comments like “Zamaamiro”, and I thought SNS was scary, but I was like, “I’m stupid!”(laughs) . Now that I’ve seen it, I’ve been reviving it.”

The scary thing about brain diseases is depression and manic depression, but perhaps thanks to his naturally positive personality, Keiko never fell into a depressed state.

“The positive side (laughs). Even the doctor told me that Keiko doesn’t seem to have that kind of anxiety. He’s too bright, so I was worried that I might be in a ‘manic state’.

He responds promptly to any question and seems to have no problem with his memory. However, the treatment continues. Perhaps what makes “higher brain dysfunction” different from other diseases is that the goal of treatment is not clear.

“From the perspective of my family who knew me before, even a small incident would feel strange. If I forget things, they will see me as someone who has a problem with attention. I is taken

Since I cannot notice the abnormality myself, I have to ask my family to point out different things, but apparently my brain has not returned to its previous state yet. In the first place, I think it is a difficult disease to judge “complete recovery”.

But I try not to think too much about it. I’m sure there are many people who suffer from the same symptoms, and it would be great if I told them to cheer up, but it would be useless if I was depressed .”
