New Developments in Nong Bua Lamphu as Settha Thaweesin Government Holds First Traveling Cabinet Meeting
Today, on December 4, 2023, at the Natthaphong Grand Hotel in Nong Bua Lamphu, Prime Minister Mr. Settha Thavisin and Minister of Finance led an off-site official Cabinet meeting, marking the government’s first visit to the province.
The Agenda
Before the meeting, the Prime Minister visited an exhibition showcasing various projects and initiatives in Nong Bua Lamphu, including value-added agriculture, tourism development, and solar water pumping technology.
The meeting featured discussions on important government agendas and presentations by the governors of the Upper Northeastern States Group 1, as well as policy guidelines by the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDB).
Private Sector Proposals
One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of proposals by the private sector, including plans to elevate tourism in the Upper Northeast Province Group 1 to the international level, support water management in the Mekong River Basin, and enhance public hospitals in the region.
Other proposals focused on logistics planning, transportation connectivity, and the hosting of international events to promote economic development and agricultural improvement.
Phu Kradueng Cable Car Project
During the meeting, a significant proposal was put forward for the construction of a cable car up Phu Kradueng in Loei Province. The project aims to boost tourism, stimulate the economy, and create unique opportunities for the region.
Additionally, there were proposals to expedite the construction of airport infrastructure to support future investment and development in the area.
