Thiruvananthapuram: Move to strengthen ward level activities in the wake of Kovid expansion. More CFLTCs will be launched. Education Minister V Sivankutty said that preparations have started for vaccination in schools. The government has decided to return to the old reserve habits when Kovid is caught and jumped.

Inactive ward level committees will be reorganized. The Local Government Department will prepare CFLTCs where required as per the information provided by the Health Department on the areas where the disease is spreading. Hostels will be taken over as required. Awareness program will be conducted with the help of Kudumbasree workers. The important decisions were taken at a meeting of the Ministers of Health and Local Government.

The International Film Festival scheduled for February 4 has been postponed. Culture Minister Saji Cherian said the decision was taken in the context of the Kovid expansion. The fair will be held as the situation changes.

The relevant departments are in the final stages of making arrangements for the schools to be vaccinated starting on Wednesday. The first phase of vaccination was given in 967 schools. Classes one to nine are being switched online from 21, but all teachers need to come to school, the education minister said.
